Via MATLAB, I have explored the realm of computer science. Interesting projects include: building my own version of Galaga, creating a machine-learning maze mouse, and modeling Atomic Force Microscopy.
My CAD 3D skills stem from extensive work on constructing the Nation's fastest CO2 powered dragster in 2017. Now through UPenn's Mechanical Engineering curriculum I have experienced Mechanical Design on a much larger, societal scale.
From prototyping a working DNA plasmid vaccine in 2017 to exploring the possibilities of carbon extraction in 2019, I have continued to independently research solutions for some of the world's most complex problems.
As MEAM Ambassador, I promote inclusivity, diversity, and togetherness throughout the Mechanical Engineering department. I have the privilege of being the program's pioneer.
I worked ~10 hours a week at Smoothie King while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in my senior year of high school. I performed tasks like smoothie making, prepping, managing inventory, up-selling/cross-selling, customer interactions, and more. After receiving the branch's quickest-ever promotion (just 2 months on the job), I oversaw coworkers, handled customer complaints, and accounted for over $1,000 nightly.
During the summer of 2020, I embraced the global pandemic and stuck to some old-fashioned manual labor. With the Hiser-York Hay Company, I unloaded and stacked 300-600 50-150lb bales of hay daily.
As a certified volunteer, I routinely work with the Red Cross by providing humanitarian relief, and working closely with other organizations in the community. My journey with the Red Cross began with my high school chapter. After half a year of volunteering and helping grow membership by ~500%, I became the Braden River High School Chapter Treasurer (December 2015 - February 2017) where I was in charge of fundraising for Chapter Events such as "Bundles for Babies" and "Disaster Relief Packs", and ordering and distributing American Red Cross apparel to all sixty members in the Chapter. After a year, I became the chapter Vice President (March 2017 - March 2018), where I took charge of revising and revolutionizing the Chapter Constitution, overseeing club communication, and co-running all meetings and events. After another year, I became the chapter President (March 2018 - May 2019), ultimately responsible for the working of the executive board, volunteer body, and representing the chapter to regional affiliates.
In my junior year, I founded both Braden River High School's SWAT and Youth in Action programs. As President, I lead the outreach programs under which volunteers rose awareness toward controversial topics that effected the lives of everyday high school students. Through my two years, I increased the volunteer population by 3000%. Half a year after their conception, I partnered the two organizations on a Tobacco-Free initiative to take advantage of both of their resources.
After 8 years of success playing for my hometown team, I became a volunteer coach, advisor, and mentor at the Chargers Soccer Club. I also helped lead week-long camps during which children aged 5-14 learned to play soccer, collaborate with peers, and develop their athletic skills.
